Come Paint With Me plein air painters kicked off the 2012 season on June 7th at Grey Towers in Milford, PA. A 10 a.m. special event celebrated the program's 15th year. It is now a year later and the 2013 cameo season is about to begin, precisely on June 6th and once more at Grey Towers NHS.
COME PAINT WITH ME offers artists the opportunity to return weekly to favorite outdoor sites, chosen cameos from the past sixteen years and remains FREE to adult and serious young artists. Step into the future to artistically interpret and record impressions of the natural surround at familiar places that have nourished our creative appetities in the past and continue to spark further growth and development of artistic skills.

the 15th anniversary of Come Paint With Me
Artists arrive eager to paint each week in a natural setting. All grapple with tote bags bulging with materials, easels and not to forget lunch boxes, while searching out inspiring scenic views from which to draw or paint. The casual weekly treks bring together old friends while welcoming new artists; all this while sharing a common interest in the arts through plein air painting.
On Thursday, June 6, we officially kick-off the season with a painting opportunity at the Main Gateway to Grey Towers in Milford, PA a newly restored area offering water, field and stone wall views. Grey Towers is but one of many locations selected for its natural aesthetic characteristics, accessibility and convenience for all. Other frequented sites include the Lords Valley Country Club at Hemlock Farms, the Dorflinger-Suydam Sanctuary in White Mills, Shawnee-on-Delaware and the town of Lackawaxen, PA. Since new venues are always included, we will also visit the G.A.I.T. Theraputic Riding Center in Milford, PA for equine enthusiasts and The Ledges Hotel in Hawley for the gorge and waterfall views.
Painting the still life in nature at the Dorflinger Glass Museum is again on the agenda along with an optional tour of the museum.
All artists may submit their art in the invitational shows and exhibits that will take place in September, October and December. Prospectus for each of the above will be sent via e-mail.
An overwhelming repsonse to COME PAINT WITH ME over the years attests to its value in contributing enormously to the artists in ways that have energized the confidence of those just starting out, and adding support to the creative integrity of the more accomplished. There is no formal instruction given but part of each session is devoted to sharing and gentle critique, a chance to learn from one another, and perhaps gain new perspectives, guidance and inspiration.
Please join me this year. I look forward once again to sharing creative moments with you all.

On the Literary Scene, my book THE HOUSE ON THE SIXTH FLOOR, which is still available from http://www.lulu.com/ @ $15 plus shipping and also from http://www.amazon.com/, continues to sell and affords me wonderful feedback from its readers. My latest book BOUQUET made its debut this year and is available at the above on line addresses at $15 plus shipping. BOUQUET is a collection of short stories depicting interesting characters, exciting events and special things all gathered from the seeds of memory. It was an awesome experience putting all these stories together especially because I got involved doing genealogy related research about some of the characters in my book. Why, my research even took me to an old cemetery in Oneida, NY where I discovered a 19th century monument where two of my characters are interred along with their ancestors. My stories also led me to discover living relatives of another of my characters via correspondence over the internet. I shall have to write another account of how this all occurred and the in-person meeting.
I attend bi-monthly meetings of the Hemlock Farms Writers Group where I am currently working on short descriptive pieces based upon my art work and the pictures reorded in my sketch journals. This might be the start of Book Three! In the meantime, the group is planning to publish a second volume of collected works by its members and to participate in another Books & Bubbly recitation for the Cultural Arts at Hemlock Farms.
